Research, Activism, or Both?: Identifying Ideological Bias in SOGI Research

In this presentation, I examine how to evaluate bias in research methods and design; e.g., "Participatory Action Research" has the explicit goal of impacting society and the scientific record in the way the studied community wants. I will discuss various SOGI studies as examples and demonstrate their outsized impact on U.S. policy.
